As the impacts of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) deepens across the country and in our own communities, I wanted to share with you the steps we are taking at FoodMaven to protect the health of our employees and customers.

We are diligently monitoring new information about food safety through the USDA, and as of now there is no evidence to show that COVID-19 is transmitting by food or food packaging. However, we do not take lightly the responsibility we have to ensure to health of our employees and customers.

We are carefully following local and national reports on the evolving impact of CODIV-19 and have designed a team to continually update our approach. To date, our response includes enhancing our existing food safety policies and procedures, including the daily disinfection of our delivery vehicle cabs. We have also developed employee quarantine policies according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines and remote work policies for non-operations personnel. The CDC has issued a helpful guide to keeping the workplace, schools, and home safe. Find it here

We are working tirelessly to take every precaution, including updating our food safety policies and procedures, a remote work strategy for non-operational staff, social distancing for operational staff, and enhanced sick leave options.

Currently, we are not aware of any FoodMaven employee who has contracted COVID-19 or has come into direct contact with an infected individual but we remain vigilant.

We recognize the significant impact this health crisis may or already is causing your foodservice operation and we are committed to doing whatever we can to help you navigate these uncertain times. We’re constantly working with our supplier partners to find the best quality product, at the best price, and with the biggest impact.
